Andres (Dre) Hernandez-Jimenez

I’ve been routesetting for about 9 years or so. I’m originally from Bloomington Indiana, however my parents are from Venezuela and Puerto Rico. They met at IU where I later started my routesetting career at a small bouldering wall. During my time setting for IU outdoor adventures, I exclusively used a hand tool, but had the privilege to set whenever and however I wanted. In other words, they saw a young enthusiastic kid and let him loose. I was then hired at Hoosier Heights after graduating, and found myself with my first drill, a year later I became a setter at NMB. On days where I’m not routesetting I can be found riding my bike, bird watching, or foraging for mushrooms!
